Dear Friends,
Thank you for finding my blog!
I am an Anthropology graduate student at UVic. I am exploring ways to bring my love for photography together with my studies on environmental and social issues. I believe that images, and the emotional responses they garner, are integral to understanding the world around us.
Photography is a means of building connections, with nature and with each other.
I’m shooting with a Canon EOS Rebel T6i, 50, 18-55, and 55-250mm. My main love is naturalist and conservation photography.
While photographs can certainly stand alone and deliver a powerful message, I prefer to combine them with thoughtful writing. Environmentalism is a personal experience.
Join me in exploring Vancouver Island (and beyond) with photography and writing.
All good things,
Rae Costain
